Why the MYS Musical Theatre Conservatory Program?
Unlike typical a la carte offerings, the Marquee Conservatory program is designed to ensure a trajectory of continuous growth that may not be experienced otherwise. With all selected students being required to complete the Conservatory program from start to finish, MYS produces reliable, professional, well-trained performers with a strong understanding of the discipline and demands within the theatre world.

FAQ:
- How do I audition? You can visit www.marqueeyouth.org to sign-up for your vocal, acting, & dance auditions that will take place on September 3rd & 5th
- How are the levels determined? Levels are determined based on experience presented within the audition room.
- If I’m a beginner would you advise I audition? Absolutely! Our program design features a level-based format to allow students to pass through the program gaining more and more experience every year.
- How old do you have to be? The Conservatory program is designed for grades 6th-12th.
- What is the schedule like? As stated above, our format allows students to be consistently training whether in the classroom or in rehearsal. When not in production students are in classes once to twice a week for an hour (per class) throughout the year. When in production students are rehearsing 3 times per week up to the performance.
- What about holidays? Our schedules are structured around holiday, and school vacation breaks.
- What do I have to prepare for the audition? For the vocal and acting audition students must prepare a 32 bar cut in the musical theatre style, and a 1-minute monologue of their choosing. For the dance audition just show up in appropriate dance attire and you will be taught the combination!
- Am I allowed to participate in just a show and not partake in classes? We highly encourage all of our students to participate in classes to strengthen them as performers, but we of course understand that there may be conflicts. We DO allow students to audition for productions only but will be expected to pay the price of the program until the production has ceased.
- How much does it cost? There is a non-refundable deposit of $250 due the first month of classes/rehearsals, then a $150 charge per month until the program has ceased. There is also the option to pay in full.
