Marquee Youth Stage is a 501(c)3 performing arts education organization, established in January 2011 and dedicated to empowering youth for life. It is our mission to broaden the reach and impact of theatre so that students of all abilities, ethnicities, skills and economic backgrounds may benefit, thereby increasing the opportunities for theater in order to inspire creativity, support, enrich and empower youth with the skills and knowledge of how the arts can serve and influence the community at large.
Summer camps and workshops are open for registration! Moana Jr. & Matilda Jr. have both been rescheduled as Marquee will not be putting on any full-length musical productions this summer.
Marquee Youth Stage hopes to reopen with in-studio Summer 2020 workshops and camps in accordance with the “Phase 3 reopening" as planned by Gov. Pritzker
Upon approved reopening MYS will be following strict protocols to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
In the event that we are not on track for the “Phase 3 reopening” by June 2nd, workshops and camps will move to a virtual format. If the virtual format is something that your student is not interested in post registration, we will be offering full refunds.
We will post updated news as we receive more information.
Spotlight Inclusion virtual classes are open for registration!
Inclusion Spotlight is a theater class for children with disabilities.
In this fun and supportive setting, we will practice theatre and life skills, create with our voice and bodies, play interactive games, and perform our own short skits and/or monologues. This class will start online during the summer, but will eventually move to an in person setting in the future. Now is the perfect opportunity to give theater a try! Accommodations and modifications are provided as needed.
Thank you to our videographer, Gary Peterson for putting together musical highlights from 2019 through pre-quarantine! We look forward to creating more Marquee memories post-quarantine. Til then, stay well! Light, love, and see you soon!
The continued spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) across the country requires that we take measures to support our community. With the state mandated 'shelter in place' extended through May 31, our studio will be closed during the month of May. Marquee Youth Stage is taking the following actions:
We are sad to discontinue remaining spring workshops. However, we look forward to the time when our country overcomes this global health crisis, and we will be ready to reopen our studio to a wonderful line-up of offerings, launching the new Musical Theatre Conservatory, summer musical workshops, and camps. Private virtual coaching lessons are still available and encouraged. For questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Upon the studio reopening, MYS will proceed by taking the the following precautions:
Alcohol-based hand sanitizers will be available in each and every rehearsal room for all students to use.
We are highly encouraging hand washing during restroom breaks, before snack breaks, or as needed.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, please stay home at the onset of an illness, in an effort to prevent viruses or any influenza-like illness from spreading. If an absence is necessary please reach out to the appropriate instructor/production team member regarding your child’s absence.
All our love and healthy wishes, The Marquee Team
