Meet the staff...

Connie Flores (Founder & Artistic Director)
Connie is a graduate of Elmhurst College with a B.A. in Speech/Theatre and English Education. Since 2003, her beginnings in teaching the mainstream youth of Kane and DuPage County public schools have led to her vision for MYS. Having worked with such a wide range of middle school and high schoolers, she saw first-hand how beneficial performing arts is to all kids. Whether working with highly talented, aspiring, or shy performers, she is always amazed by the transforming impact that performing arts has on all young performers.
Her thoughts on youth theatre...
“The stage is a creative platform where kids come together and become equals, rooting for each other. There is something so refreshing and amazing about believing in kids and watching them grow and rise beyond the expectations set for them. They are the reason for every production choice I’ve made, and they are the vision behind MyStage. MyStage is their stage; it reflects the pride, purpose, and energy that make each of them unique.”
Her journey in theater started from one voice and has grown to over 1,200 voices that shape and color her directing vision today. Several of her works were covered in the Beacon News, St. Charles Examiner, and Naperville & Geneva Sun. Some of her directing credits include Frozen JR, Into the Woods JR, Shrek the Musical, Mulan JR, Mary Poppins, Honk JR, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan JR, Once Upon a Mattress, The Little Mermaid Jr, High School Musical Jr., Willy Wonka Jr., Alice in Wonderland Jr., Annie Jr., Seussical Jr., Music Man Jr., and Once on this Island JR, and plays, Princess Who, A Christmas Carol, Adventures of Tom Sawyer, A-Haunting We Will Go, Fairytales with a Twist, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and mystery dinner shows, Cafe Murder and And Then There Was One. She can’t wait to work with the future voices that will become a part of the MyStage family!
